Study.com scholarship question

I applied for the Guardian scholarship. When I did the application it didn't say anything about posting on Facebook. After I applied I got an email that said they award it based on how they like your response as well as how other students like the response. Then it said we encourage you to post it on our facebook page...but they didn't give a link to any facebook page. Did any of you have to post on facebook in order to get the scholarship? It would have been nice if they'd told me about that while I was applying since I submitted it without saving what I'd written in the box. I haven't heard back from them. How long does it take to get it if you do?

I think the general consensus is they send them out in batches on the 1st of the month. I applied in January around the 29th or 30th and February 1st I got my email from them. Make sure you check your spam/junk email folder. I understand they go there sometimes.

Oh and I didn't post anything on Facebook.

I received the Guardian scholarship as well last year and never posted anything about it on Facebook. Also be sure to check your Spam box, that is where I found my welcome award email for it.

I was worried about that same thing initially but I just kept checking my email and got the scholarship at the beginning of February with the rest of the people.

Mine took 2 months to get approved. Pretty sure I was an extreme case though.

I guess I'll apply again if it doesn't come through in a couple weeks. I was just hoping to get started sooner.

I just posted this in the other Guardian scholarship thread, but since we can't merge threads...

I'm pretty sure the scholarship invites are done in a batch with a limit on the number accepted per month (or perhaps a max number in the program at one time.) So, invites are probably done in order of when someone applied based on the number of slots available. If you apply late, you get bumped to the next batch.

I also know they aim to line up the scholarships to all begin at the first of the month, so chances are if you haven't heard anything (check your spam folder) within the first few days of a new month, you're probably not in that month's batch.
