I had no ULs transferred in, which is fine. I've done them all so far with UMPI and tbh, theyre easier than a few of the 100 level classes I've taken.
I transferred Marketing Management in so I can't offer any advice on the course. Organizational Behavior is pretty straightforward. I didn't find it challenging. The Final Assessment was about your personal experience when I took the course. It was pretty easy to write since it was about my experience.

I had my first meeting today with Dr. Amanda Wickramasinghe! It was absolutely amazing. Her advice was great, and she was super supportive and helped me identify a weakness and gave me a lot of compliments so far on my milestones. I'm really glad I decided to speak with her while on vacation with my boyfriend.
I'm kind of sad my adventure in her class is almost over!

I'm needing feedback from those that have taken spanish with UMPI. I emailed the instructor and told here there was no way that the content that was covered in the class (spanish 101) using ONLY the words and verbs taught was enough for a 500 word essay. So, in turn she took it as a challenge and is writing an autobiography using only the words covered in the course. she said if she can't use only the words covered then she'll change the examp prompts.
go me. and this was an unintended "challenge" on my end. If we're getting personal which I'm ok with, the question of "what's your mothers name and fathers name"? well, do you want my adoptive parents or my birth parents? both of them had an equal part in raising me. And trust me, those words weren't covered in the content of spanish 101.
what I'd like to know from you is did you feel there was enough content to cover a 500 word essay?

I haven't taken Spanish at UMPI but I have to say that I find it very bizarre that you are ONLY supposed to use the words directly covered within the course. I'm taking Finnish at XAMK and one of the first things they throw at us is an online translation dictionary. Because it would be extremely difficult even within just the first few lessons to cover EVERYTHING that might be important. Like, the lessons teach you how to say "I am from Spain" or "I am German" but don't include any non-European countries. It would be really weird to have to say "I am not Spanish. I am not German." instead of "I am American."
When I was taking Spanish in HS, we were encouraged to use Spanish dictionaries to increase our vocabulary. We were not to rely on ONLY the textbook. That advice runs counter to what just about every true polyglot says to do, too. If you stick to the book/lessons, you'll never be fluent. I know ashkir liked the teacher but these requirements are just silly.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Hmm, I guess that's a couple of courses to take outside of UMPI - Language and Science course with Lab requirement! Example, Biology with Lab and French or Spanish

RIGHT?! I mean the teacher is nice, but there's just no way I can cover MY autobiography in the content provided. So after 8 hours of rewriting, I submitting what I have.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to take a language elsewhere, I took Spanish I from InstantCert and it was painless. It transferred in just fine to UMPI.
Now I’m glad that I took that while waiting for my first session to start. I’m a fluent Spanish speaker and I would’ve had a difficult time to stick to only the vocabulary presented in the lessons.

I completed Spanish at UMPI with an A. I had plenty of words to use. You can use the Milestones in the Final Assessment. Those questions are in the Final Assessment. Short simple sentences is the key. My Final Assessment was over 550 words. I did use words that were not included in the course material and was not marked down because of them. I used SIMPLE BASIC words like lake, walk, wine, different foods, etc. It can be done. I did it!

I honestly screwed myself because here I am trying to better myself in my spanish language and doing babbel, spanish dictionary and youtube videos. So it wasn't great. At least I know If I bomb this class I WONT redo it and I'll do spanish from instantcert.
