TEEX Cyber courses are back with more credits

Well, I’m glad I never finished these. I don’t exactly need the credit, but It’s definitely more worth my while now.

Especially since you no longer have to finish all 3-4 classes to get credit.

Just curious. What are the advantages of getting an Associates degree on top of the Bachelors? Somebody enlighten me, please.

I consider the one I'm planning on getting (ASNSM in Math) basically the equivalent of minoring in the subject (since TESU doesn't do minors)

So what’s the deal with AWR 175? Is vocational credit no good at 2 or 4 year colleges?

Most likely. I transferred in one of the Sophia foundations courses which was ace evaluated for vocational credit and received no credit.

I think you still have to do all the mini courses inside the bigger course to get the credits - but I'm confused by the math.
If you click on Cyber 101 on TEEX's website, then all 3 courses open.

From there, you can click on each course, it says the following:

(White Collar Crime) Two credit hours through ACE are provided only if all three courses within the Online for Everyone - Non-Technical (Cyber 101) track are completed.

(Cyber Ethics) Two credit hours through ACE are provided only if all three courses within the Online for Everyone - Non-Technical (Cyber 101) track are completed.

(Info. Sec Everyone) Two credit hours through ACE are provided only if all three courses within the Online for Everyone - Non-Technical (Cyber 101) track are completed.

So, to compare this over on the ACE website, it says: "In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 4 semester hours in cybersecurity. Students must complete TEEX-0277, TEEX-0278, and TEEX-0279 to receive credit for this course. "

So, according to ACE, completion of all 3 = 4 LL credits. But why inside the TEEX site does each course list being worth 2 LL credits (2x3=6). Is it 4 or 6??

Cyber201- same thing, 4 courses each listed for 2 LL credits, but ACE says 3 credits when you complete all 4 classes. (2x4=8) Is it 3 or 8??

Cyber 310- same thing, 3 courses each listed for 2 LL credits, but ACE says 3 credits when you complete all 3 classes (2x3=6) Is it 3 or 6?

I get that they've also given stand alone credit options for some of their courses, but it looks like that's only if you decide not to get a full cyber series.

The website is just talking about the old credit values. 2 credits total if you complete the entire series. ACE was bumped up to 3-4 credits per series, but TEEX didn't change their site.

It looks like the TEEX site isn't updated to the new ace recommendations. The ACE site basically says you can get the individual credits for each individual course OR the credits through for the full 101/201/301 courses.

ok, I'm still working on this- I looked up every AWR and it's true that EVERY ONE on the TEEX list has ACE value- but you now have to choose one option (an umbrella to house your 3-4 TEEX courses) or individual courses. It appears as if the Cyber101/201/301 umbrellas are NOT the way to go anymore, that you get more credit pursuing each class individually. If you complete all 11 courses and submit as an umbrella class (Cyber101/201/301) you'll get 10 credits. If, instead, you do all 11 courses and submit them to your ACE transcript individually (NOT asking for credit in the umbrella classes) you'll get 12 credits - 2 more credits for doing the EXACT SAME WORK.

Now, the million dollar question. The exclusion clause "you can't get credit for [this] if you already have credit in [umbrella course]" is specifically dated after 12/2018. In addition, the individual courses are all worth credit starting on 12/18..... so...... for those people who completed the umbrella courses and already have them on their ACE transcript, I wonder what the odds are of adding new individual courses? They are currently different things. Might be worth trying....

Unfortunately, you don't get 2 extra credits for submitting individually.
1 of the credits is in the vocational category instead of LL/associates category, so probably won't count for most people.

Awr 138 AND awr 139 are worth 1 credit total if you complete them both.

So together it adds up to 10 credits plus 1 vocational credit. What you DO get is a single UL credit if you submit individually.
