So I am planning on attending Thomas Edison State College, for the March semester and naturally I have a lot of questions, first one I realize people here probably won't know and I plan on calling TESC tomorrow and seeing what they say about some of my questions. But also figured it would be worth posting here
1.) I applied and was accepted ~1 year ago and had my transfer credit evaluated, but have read on there website application that applications are only good for 6 months. But I can still log in to there website and view what my credits counted for and stuff, do I need to apply again?
2.)It says you can transfer up to 120 credits but I don't understand, like how many credits can you actually apply to a degree there. I will have between 80-90 credits that would apply toward my degree (either gen mngmt or CIS), is that allowed? Is there really no limit? Could you come in to TESC without taking a single class there and they would just hand you a degree if you had the proper 120 credits?
3.) If it turns out I do need to apply again, I can't remember how long it takes for this process to happen, does anyone know? Would I likely complete applying and all that nonsense in order to be ready in time for March semester if I do need to reapply?
4.) I estimate I will have 36 credits to do when I get in to TESC before graduating, when I plug these numbers in to the price calculator, it comes out to between 11 and 12 thousand. Now the comprehensive tuition for the same period comes out to around 8.5 thousand but it's vague on what exactly that covers.
Application Fee = $75
Transfer of previously earned credit = 84 credits
Annual Enrollment = $3062
Technology Services Fee = $121
Course Registration Fee ($56 per semester @ 6 semesters) = $324
Course Tuition (36 credits @ $229) = $8244
These are the fees listed in the price calculator, which of these would be "go away" or "be replaced" by using the comprehensive plan?
I'm guessing it has to be at least the course tuition and the annual enrollment? It can't just be the course tuition because the comprehensive plan is $8,647 which is MORE than the listed course tuition, and even if you included technology fee and course registration fee at that point they would be basically equal, and the way the site talks about it the comprehensive plan saves you money. So in essence I guess my question boils down to: The comprehensive plan includes this "annual enrollment fee" yes yes?
Last question:
5.) Anyone have any thoughts on general management bachelors vs CIS, I have my business core pretty much done and these are the 2 I was leaning towards. I figured I would start out in CIS and then if I didn't like it too much I would already have a few classes from the CIS category for the general managements degree requirements and could just switch to that.
That's it (lol) for now, I greatly greatly appreciate any and all responses, as you can see I try to be extremely thorough when making a decision like this so people on forums like these are truly indispensable, thank you.
