TESC degree requirements
#1
Has anyone simplified the new General Education requirements for TESC yet? I'd really like to know how my credits fit into an AA with TESC, and the "What if" part of the academic evaluation is pretty unreliable at the moment.

I think they're pretty easy to understand just by looking at how TESC categorizes its own courses.
General Education Courses

When you look at a degree's distribution of credit, it gives a breakdown of what's needed.
Thomas Edison State College: Associate in Arts

I don't know why one would want to give TESC $3,000+ for a general studies AA after completing a bachelor's degree.

Well I haven't completed the bachelor's degree yet. I'm up for a promotion at work and an associates would help....but I may just try to show my transcripts instead, since I will be graduating COSC in December.

How long before you finish the cornerstone? Wouldn't it be easier to get the associate's from COSC? You already missed the September graduation application deadline for TESC, so you would have to wait for the December one anyway.

Week 7 starts tomorrow. It's an 8 week course. I could get an associates from COSC, but since I'm already registered for my final 3 courses for next term, it's probably best if I just stick to my current plan.

I guess it was just a ploy to do a little resume boosting. In interviews, it sometimes helps when you have more education than the people interviewing you....unless they view you as a threat to their position.

It hadn't dawned on me to check the graduation dates for TESC.

I'm not an expert on COSC, but why would it change your plan? Shouldn't you already have all of the requirements for an AS or AA?

In the cornerstone seminar, you are required to create a degree plan and several assignments are based off the degree plan. I would have to retake the course so I could redo those assignments that have already been completed.

If you might still be interested in an associate's, please confirm this with your advisor. It could be a misunderstanding or miscommunication.

No the end goal is definitely the bachelors. I wouldn't be able to graduate until December either way. I'm only 2 courses and a capstone away from my bachelors.
