Quote:Google Bootcamp with Tulane SoPA
Free Google Associate Cloud Engineer Course
Starts: Tuesday January 29, 2021 | Ends Tuesday May 11, 2021
At Tulane SoPA, we provide working professionals with opportunities to further their expertise with programs that are led by industry experts. Our Bootcamp delves into the technical aspects of the Google Cloud Platform and examines how to address potential complications. This certificate program is free and can be completed entirely online in approximately 40 hours. The program runs from January 26 to May 11. Students can complete our Google Cloud Bootcamp on their own schedule, and they will have access to three synchronous Q&A sessions with the instructor, Professor Jason Lorino. After completing the program, participants will be eligible for the following:
Earning a Google “Associate Cloud Engineer” Certificate that they can add to their resumes
Converting their certificate into three credits for SoPA’s undergraduate Information Technology program through our Credit for Prior Learning process
Free application to our Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program
Expedited admission to our Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program
A free Tulane University USB drive that has information about our undergraduate IT program

Am not sure how the 3 credits will work, but I signed up anyway since it's free.

It would probably only apply if you enroll in their university.
An interesting thing is that it says you get a "certificate" and not "certification."

Hmm, they're 3 Credit for Prior Learning Process - which means, it's getting credit after just passing an assessment of that knowledge.

Yeah... that sucks. Is there any way we can enroll as a non-degree student and get that 3 credit on transcript?
I have asked them if I can get the three credits as a non-degree student.
Let's wait for their response.

Do you think that it is their own "certificate", not google "certification"?

There aren't many details regarding how they're doing this but it's possible that you'll get an Acclaim badge at the very least: https://www.youracclaim.com/org/quicksta...fication.1

Not quite the same thing. Those certificates are to be hosted on Coursera. https://grow.google/certificates/
This appears to be the correct certification: https://cloud.google.com/certification/cloud-engineer and I guess if you pass you get listed here: https://googlecloudcertified.credential.net/ The exam is normally $125.
