UMPI B.A.S MIS minor Eligibility Question

Hello All,

I recently obtained my A.S. Degree (Not the specified A.A.S) in Computer Networks and Security management. 

Do any of you know if I would still be eligible for the  B.A.S MIS minor degree ? 

I have tried to call and email but it seems they are swamped.

Unfortunately, No, I don't think they'll allow this to happen. If you read the BAS PDF, it indicates the prospective student needs an AAS, it also needs 40+ technical credits (in addition to the remainder of the requirements for the AAS).

Probably not as the requirement states an AAS, but apply for it anyway. Worst case scenario is they put you the BLS instead. The BLS isn't anymore difficult really. Both have the MIS an option for a minor. You could add additional minors such as project management or management to help fillout the degree requirements.

Oh, depending on what you want to do in the future, another option is go for the BABA PM & IS. You have an associates, you can ladder up to the PM & IS option to give you a more rounded education in Business, so you'll now be more versed in both Business, Project Management & Computer, Network, Security Management.

Thanks all, here is a follow up from them.
It is possible if you have earned 40 or more college-level technical credits. That said, our Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and Bachelor's in Business Administration can also be paired with the MIS minor

Now the thing is to see what qualifies as technical credits.

What? They're letting AA or AS students into the BAS if they've got enough technical credits? That's interesting, they're not enforcing many of their requirements needed for the BAS it seems... On the BAS PDF, it mentions an AAS is required in addition to the 40+ tech credits, unless that has changed on their policies, which I doubt, you may be getting some slack when time comes to audit for graduation.

What someone says on the phone or in an email isn't necessarily true when it comes to admissions. The admissions specialists aren't the ones who are actually approving applications nor are they the ones processing them. Don't be surprised if an AS or an AA isn't accepted for the BAS. The requirements state an AAS and at least 40 technical credits. They're picky about the 40 technical credits as well. The BLS is also an option for utilizing your credits.

Oh, that's correct, OP may have been corresponding with enrollment specialists (sales people) instead of admissions or advising staff...
