I was in a similar situation. I have a BS in Small Business Administration and an MBA. I went back to UMPI to get the Accounting degree because when I tried to pursue a second Masters in Accountancy, I did not have the prerequisite accounting courses to pursue to the Masters. I was able to transfer in 66 credits from my undergrad and complete the remaining 56 credits at UMPI. I'm still waiting on my degree to be conferred, but a second bachelors are a good option if you are unable to get into a Masters in Accountancy due to missing credits. Also, UMPI provided the necessary accounting credits if I wanted to pursue my CPA.

UMPI offers a BA in accounting. Yes I know that. I was replying to the post that said tesu didn’t offer a BS in Accounting. I offered the suggestion to the op as well.

The website still says BSBA in Accounting. There's some weird thing in the "catalog" (which is different than the website how, I'm not certain) that says BS in Accounting, but it's the exact same degree as the BSBA/Acctg, and is still from the school of business. So I don't see that they're differentiating it at all, meaning the policy should be the same as the BSBA.
I can't quite tell if they're actually offering this, or if they just did some weird catalog thing and haven't fixed it.

BA/BS, doesn't make a difference to a CPA board.

The key here is the even if TESU offers a BS in Accounting (although it does seem it is actually only offering the BSBA-Accounting) it would be from the same TESU school (business) that I have a degree from so I would not be eligible. Back to my only accounting option with TESU is the certificate, which I am short two required UL courses (which I can get through SDC at this time). I think what I'll do is apply to UMPI for the BA-Accounting today and see where my existing credits fall, and see just what 10 courses I'd need to take with them. Knowing I would be required to take 10 courses with UMPI may be a determining factor in the end. If I go the certificate route with TESU, yes it is only a certificate but it would be reflected on my existing TESU BSBA transcript, I could always take more accounting credits before applying for graduation to boost up my total accounting credit count. I already have a master degree (although not in accounting), so I don't think my ROI would be worth the cost of another master. UMPI 2nd bachelor would be far more affordable. I will wait and see where my credits fall with UMPI before I make a final decision (thank you all)

30 credits is the minimum you'll have to complete. You also have to meet the major requirements which can be over 30 credits. You're waived from the GEC as you already have a bachelor's degree.

BABA Accounting or the BA Accounting at UMPI should be fine... If you're looking to ladder upwards, you can go onto the WGU MS Accountancy later if needed. See what you really need/want for your future goal, either BA Accounting or BABA Accounting should hit enough credits for your immediate goal though. UMPI for the win if you can finish in 2 sessions...

I already have a BSBA from TESU, so I wouldn't have interest (even if I could get) a BABA from UMPI. The BA-Accounting would be both different and topic specific enough to make a practical addition to my resume, while adding accounting credits to my transcripts at an affordable cost - which is why I'm considering it.

Unclear how adding accounting credits to your transcripts will have any benefit for a job unless you are going into the accounting/finance industry.
