The MHA opens up a really interesting path to a quick and relatively inexpensive doctorate. I’ve seen people complete the MAOL and MSB in a single term, which means they can be finished for 2,450. I would infer that the MHA could be done at a similar pace.
From what I’ve heard from multiple students, if you already have an MHA, the DHA program at OK State will typically allow you to transfer in 30 credits. That leaves just 32 credits remaining for the DHA. Their tuition rate for the DHA is 364 per credit, so 364 × 32 comes out to 11,648. If you map it out, you could spend one 8-week term at UMPI for the MHA, then about a year completing the DHA. That brings the total tuition to roughly 14,098. In the end, you’d walk away with both an MHA and a DHA from RA state schools for a very solid price. It’s a very good deal for people interested in the field of healthcare.

Many of those who completed the MAOL in a single term also completed 3 undergrad courses which were waived in the MAOL so they didn't complete the entire program in a term. They also work like dogs to get this done in 8 weeks. It's grueling and I've seen several people burnout and have issues because of it. Remember to take care of yourself.

I did a degree at WGU in 4 months, and it was a struggle for sure, even though I already had a strong background in the discipline. I couldn't imagine doing it in half the time. Even the DHA in a year could be a struggle. I have been considering it for some time, and I know I'd take longer than that, even with reduced credits. It is great that it's an option, though. For those who are able to complete it that quickly, it’s a great opportunity, even if they’re few in number. |
