WGU - Discount for Last Term if it's Only the Capstone?
#1
My son is attempting to complete his degree at WGU in one term - he has 35 credits to complete for his BS. His enrollment counselor told him he should have no trouble completing his courses, but the capstone might take him longer and he may not be able to finish it in one term. She mentioned that it's "much cheaper" if all he needs to do on a second term is complete the capstone. Does anyone know more details about this? He's not great with writing, so this may end up being the case, and I'm curious what the tuition would be for a capstone-only term. Has anyone experienced this?
Here Researching for my son, who has done the following:
Community College: Intro to Philosophy, Fundamentals of IT, English Comp 1
Saylor: Intro to Business, Principles of  Marketing, Corporate Communication
Shmoop: US History 2 (WGU won't accept this)
ALEKS: Int. Algebra, College Algebra
Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, US History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Accounting 1,Communication, Managerial Accounting, Statistics
Ed4Credit: Managing Information Systems
Sophia: Project Management
WGU: Bachelors in HR Management

Second son is currently attending Penn Foster for his high school diploma, then on to Ashworth for An Associates in Criminal Justice

They prorate your final term if you have less than 12 CUs needed. So if he only needs 4 units...

4/12 = 0.33

0.33 x $2,890 = $953.70

so approx $953.70 for the last term.

Note this is ONLY for the last term if you have less than 12 CU remaining. If you fail to complete the 12 minimum CUs in say, your first term, you're still on the hook for the full term $2,890.

Thanks - that is very helpful. I feel better knowing we'll only be out $1000 if he doesn't complete the capstone this term.
