WGU MBA in 57 days - NOT ME!
#1
Just saw a posting on the WGU MBA FB page that she is in her capstone and will have finished her MBA in 57 days.   Started on July 1st, had all 10 courses finished by July 29th.  Started the capstone on 8/1, final grades will post August 31st.  Pretty amazing.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

There's only 10 courses within an MBA? I mean, I'm sure they're very intense but I had no idea. I guess I assumed it'd be like another full 120 credits or something.

Most masters programs are 30-39 cr (10-13 courses), but as you said the workload is generally more intense.

57 days is really quick no matter how you look at it. I have to imagine the student has a lot of prior knowledge in the subject matter as well as a ton of free time on their hands.

I know that one of our board members @randomsoul completed his MSML at WGU in less than 6 months and followed that up with an MBA shortly thereafter, but he was able to complete courses with overlap between both degrees to speed up the process on the second degree. Once I finalize my BSBA I'm hoping to follow his example and pacing.

But to be able to do the first degree in less than two months? That's a heck of a goal... something to think about to be sure.

Masters is the way to go. The challenge is finding a cost-effective one, but obviously WGU is on that list.
I'd do another master's instead of another bachelor's any day.

57 days effectively means they went directly to writing on each task and already knew the material. The capstone takes a minimum of 2 weeks and must be last, so that leaves 43 days for everything else. Very impressive! Given the amount of writing, they are probably still icing their wrists to treat the carpal tunnel Smile
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

I should add that she did work during this time, but said she had some flexibility in her job.

Look for the #SheDidThat campaign, I believe the article was featured there.

There is a WGU MBA page.   I don't have the link right now, but it should come up with a search.

Here is the link, but you have to be a member of the page.
