If anyone needs to do some credit banking for whatever reason, I think I accidentally discovered a loophole at TESC that could save you a lot of money. I already completed a BA back in 2010 and decided to pursue a BSBA earlier this year to try and reenter my old career field, so I finished more ALEKS & Straighterline courses along with CLEP & DSST exams for this second bachelor's but stopped about 5 classes short of completing it. Since I decided switch careers to teaching a BSBA just seemed a waste of time and money, especially since an MA would be more beneficial to my new career goals. However, before deciding on this career change I had sent the transcripts for the courses/exams I completed this year for the BSBA to TESC for an evaluation so I could see officially what was left even though I hadn't actually enrolled yet. I wasn't charged anything for this, I think because I'm an alumni thanks to my BA through TESC. I was given an evaluation through their online system a few weeks later, which after I decided to switch careers I figured this wasn't needed anymore. Now the program I'm entering for the teaching license requires official transcripts to be sent, which I duly requested from TESC. Guess what was on the transcript (I got an extra copy)? All of the courses and exams I had taken for the BSBA as well as all of my courses/exams for the BA I actually earned through TESC. Long story short (too late, I know), I got all of these extra credits on my official transcript for $20 instead of the $500 TESC normally charges for credit banking! Just thought I'd mention this in case this could help someone else.
As for the BSBA, I might finish this one day if I receive tuition assistance to pay for it. It can't hurt I guess but am not really interested in doing so at my own expense right now.

Well to be honest I didn't intend for this to happen but I'm not arguing!

It is really good to know that TESC will add courses/credits to your transcript after you graduate. Excelsior College does, too, "below the degree line". The last time I checked there was a $25 fee at EC for that service.

Interesting. Still, the $25 is not bad for EC. I just might try this at TESC. Hold on. I have to take a look at the last transcript I received. Before my enrollment was over, I sent a CC transcript because I was thinking about doing the BSBA.

What? Crap that's awesome!!
If this is true (and in fairness, it could be an accident, because I think a degree "closes" ones transcript") this would absolutely be the best way to add more credit. I know I have around 30 undergrad credits I've completed since my degree, and I'd LOVE to give them a home! I might try this too and see what comes of it.
EDIT: ok, I'm going to decide if this is my best play or not- because "what if" a person later wants to roll those loose credits into a degree? I wonder if they're locked out due to that? Hummmm

The new transcript I received has the post-BA credits I earned mixed up with the credits from my degree without any distinction - except the usual "[Community college name]" under "TRANSFER CREDITS"; "TESC-ACE", "TESC-DSST", "TESC-Clep" and "TESC-Navy" under "ASSESSMENT CREDITS"; 1 course I took at TESC for the BA under "INSTITUTIONAL CREDITS".
It's the same format I received when I completed the BA.
This transcript does list that I completed the BA in 2010 with honors, as well as has "BSBA in General Management" listed under "CURRENT PROGRAM". However, and this is crucial, I never officially enrolled! All I did was send transcripts to TESC to be evaluated when I was still intending to pursue the BSBA and later asked for transcripts so I could send them to the teaching program I entering next year. Most of the transcripts from these new credits I had sent to TESC didn't cost me anything either because at the time I took the CLEP or DSST exams, for example, I had put down TESC as the receiving institution. So really I only had the cost of the transcript from ACE for the new credits from ALEKS and Straighterline. Pretty cheap way to get more credits on your transcript overall!
In all likelihood, however, these credits will be taken off next year after that 6 month period expires from when I had the evaluation done since I won't be officially enrolling. In the meantime though I have them on there for the teaching program! Someone else could do what I did I guess if they only need these credits on their transcripts for a short period of time.
If receive tuition assistance once I'm employed full-time again I'll probably pursue the BSBA so then everything will be official for the long-term, but for now I just plan on finishing the master's degree once I am licensed to teach.

Ok, now I think I'm starting to grasp the full utility of this loophole. So, in essence, for any alum, it "credit banks" for you for free until the next purge rolls around. Got it!
