What to take to make this requirement? Technical Writing (ENG-201) for TESC?

Since there is so little on this test, what are the other options for meeting this credit for TESC?

Technical Writing (ENG-201)

Thanks!

Thanks!

Some of the options in order of what I've seen as most popular routes would be to:

-Complete the DSST exam (http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/d...riting.pdf)
-Complete the TECEP exam (http://www2.tesc.edu/tecep_desc/ENG-201.pdf)
-Transfer in the credit from another regionally accredited source
-Take the course at TESC (Thomas Edison State College: Courses & Schedules)

I took the DSST route and found the exam okay. It looks like it has turned into a 400 passing score since I completed it but I'd say like any other exam it is all about reading up on the topics and studying. Looks like you need 63-67% of the exam correctly to pass with a 400 score (see page two of http://getcollegecredit.com/assets/pdf/D...coring.pdf).
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

I took the DSST a long time ago, before they redid the scoring but I found the Handbook of Technical Writing (any addition) worked good as a study guide. I did the DDST because the TECEP required an essay I think.

I enjoyed that exam, one of the easier ones in my opinion.

ITA, the DSST exam was a breeze; it was multiple choice (opt essay not req'd by TESC).

You can use this online text to prep. https://www.prismnet.com/~hcexres/textbook/
