Withdraw option at UMPI
#1
Just trying to do some planning....It is looking like I will have two weeks to do my final two classes. If I go through the milestones, quizes, etc and just cannot finish the project in time, what then? Can I withdraw, then retake the class next session without any negative repercussions?

There is a cutoff date for withdrawing from a course. It will be on your transcripts as a withdrawal and some see that as a negative. You'd have to ask if you can take the course over next term. Sounds like you need to ask your academic advisor these questions so you get the most current and correct info.

That's right, it's really 'planning' on the students part, to take X courses and ask to add a course or two so you don't get too bogged down with assignments, written work, etc. Sometimes 'life happens' and you want to limit the amount on your plate, work the classes two at a time and when they're done, add one/two more until you're done with the set at UMPI.

What I've learned is not to panic about it, you'll get a W and then can retake it. As long as you are passing 50% of your classes it's not a big deal.

Just ask to Withdraw with a W note and retake class next term, no big deal, wayy better than F. Usually maximum withdrawal at a week before final due (the same time when draft due).

I ended up finishing the current classes I was working on and knew there was no way I was going to finish the last two classes for my degree (accounting - last two classes were advanced accounting and nonprofit tax). So, I will just take a third session starting in Jan, to finish the two classes. Accounting II was very tough, so finishing advanced accting in a week just wasn't feasible, I didn't think.
