Hey All! Hope everyone is doing well and studying hard.
I had to take an extended break from IC & the forum to care for my ailing Granny. BUT I made good use of the down time by reading text books to prep for 2 teceps.....Anyhoo yesterday I was online trying to schedule the teceps but couldn't access the list. When I emailed tech services this is the reply they sent. Just sharing it here in case anyone else is currently studying for any teceps:
âThe TECEP tests have been withdrawn, pending a systematic review and
revision of the entire TECEP program. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused you.â

Wow! Sorry that you couldn't register. Sounds like they are revamping their system.

So ALL TECEPS have been removed? That's kind of a big deal.
I know TESC communicated a little while ago that they were temporarily removing some exams (I think we here on the board speculated that someone may have accessed the tests and "compromised" them) but to "freeze" the entire selection of tests seems bad.
I an sorry that you spent time studying for a test that is now not available. Can you put that studying to good use by maybe taking a comparable PF course? I'll bet you would breeze through it since you already know the material. I hope they bring them back soon.

I emailed my contact at TESC last night after seeing this post and was told that the TECEPS that are listed on TESC's website are still available.
It might be a good idea to call and confirm if you need a TECEP.

Thanks for the replies all. Good idea brothermike. I've forwarded the email I received to the head of the advisment and the head of the testing department for verification. I'll post any reply I get here.
(I like tesc but they have given out conflicting info before.)

Luckily for all of us who love having test out options it turns out the email I received from tesc about 'all teceps having been withdrawn pending review of the entire program' was not correct. I should have know to verify the information with a trusted TESC contact. Poor service and communication aside, there are a lot of reasons to like TESC.
BUT if I had to advise a newbie on how to avoid the pitfalls of TE, I'd say during the 1st semester try to gather and learn the specific names of
who to contact for good service and
reliable info in each department. Knowing who the helpful and informed employees are will save you a lot of time.
For verification I sent the email I received to the director of advisement because he has helped me several times in the past. See part of his reply with links to available and withdrawn teceps.
