Hi

Please assist which courses might be easier to do with Sopia learning, on crunch time

[*]World Religions – would not be approved, but REL*1001 Approaches to Studying Religions would be 3 credits
[*]Intro to Sociology – would be accepted for 3 credits
[*]Intro to Psychology – would be accepted for 3 credits
[*]Conflict Resolution – would be accepted for 3 credits
[*]Art History 2 - – would be accepted for 3 credits
[*]Public Speaking  – Public Speaking would be accepted for 3 credits.
[*]Ancient Greek Philosophers - would be accepted for 3 credits

Of the listed courses, Conflict Resolution and Art History II are the only ones without touchstones, which take days/weeks to grade. AH2 has about half the challenges/milestones, so I'm guessing that will be faster:

It all depends on what you're looking for in a class, some of the courses might be a class you're going to "slog" through, but if you're interested in something over the other, you may finish it faster even though it may have more quizzes or assignments. The link provided will give you an overview of the number of quizzes, tests, and assignments if any. Review the subject matter and see if it really interests you or not, if it does, take those first. Last but not least, you should invest in a second monitor for multi-tasking as Sophia.org is all open book.

(12-07-2021, 12:59 PM)Have you looked into taking any courses for credit at LawShelf? Super user-friendly, and about 50 of their courses have NCCRS credit recommendations. The courses are all free, and each has a $35 proctored exam fee, but that\s it! Good luck to you!  TZEMU36444 Wrote: Hi

I don't remember seeing anything about LawShelf before. Assuming the credits are accepted, it looks like they've got some credits that coule apply to any business degree, too.

Yes, they have a whole bunch of different video, legal courses. Only need to take one proctored exam at the end, which is $35, but the courses themselves are free. They recently were recommended for college credit by NCCRS, so I expect we will be hearing a lot more about them moving forward. But yes, Business classes would be an obvious fit, but also for an gen ed courses!

UMPI does not. Neither does COSC. TESU and Excelsior do accept NCCRS credits.

These are NOT new credits.  They've been NCCRS-approved for many years (some since 2008).

The vast majority of these credits will be Free Electives; or Business credits for a BSBA student.  But there are very few Liberal Arts courses (GE's).

Maybe National Paralegal College has been NCCRS approved since then, but LawShelf itself is only since June of 2021. Yes, these are new credits: http://www.nationalccrs.org/organization...onal-media

Courses at NPC are about $1k each! I doubt very many people have been taking them for transfer to TESU or EC.
