Great job! WhooHooo! Linda's Dear Husband has all of our thanks for getting her steamed this morning. Love a woman with a purpose (cough*attitude*cough)

I posted my story on the official TESC board, hopefully Dr. Keel will see it and help get things set straight. I am glad I now have it printed out in writing on my eval. I think we all need more then one drink after this day. I will take a deep breath now and try to get back to Edu. Psy.

Mine won't be listed for a while Linda so I may have a few fights left in me. I'm filing for graduation in a few days since all of my transcripts are in and I'm just hoping nothing else happens. I'm going to have to watch my eval (which I do every day) and make sure everything is straight. :ack:
BTW are you talking about the help section forum? I didn't know TESC had one...

:iagree: What would we do without this forum? This secures checks and balances for us. Nia is the graduate advisor I was talking about earlier, she must be the ALEKS expert. Everybody in advisement including Dr. Keel seems to funnel a lot of the ALEKS questions to her. She seems pretty helpful but sometimes difficult to contact.

I'm just curious... I may be opening up a whole new can of worms here... But...
Wouldn't you make sure everything is in order well and prior to when you're looking to graduate?
I realize one of the big draws to the Big Three is the fact that you can get pretty much everything done as far as their requirements for graduation with a degree before even talking to them about applying/enrolling. But is there a reason to leave everything (especially official evals) to the last minute at places that are known to have various levels of internal miscommunications, as well as base your future on the experiences of random internet people who may have done or gone through something similiar in the past?
I thought the number one mantra around here was 'Make sure you check with your school to make sure!' when it comes to to what the schools may take or how they may handle these credit situations?
I love this forum. I do. People go out of their way to be helpful and provide direction and insight. (And I myself have tried to do so as well...) But if I get conflicting information or there might be the slightest question about how something I'm doing will impact my degree, you can be darned sure that I'm not only going to the school itself for the final answer, but I'm getting it in writing from them ahead of time. The one time I didn't do this, I ended up taking an extra ALEKs course that I didn't have to take. I got off lucky. But then again, I'm also not planning on graduating for another 4 months.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

Before I took the ALEKS course I spoke here with others who had gotten credit for it and I called the school and spoke with an advisor who said it would be fine. You can't get everything through and be sure it will be approved until after you take it. When I logged on here today and saw others were having trouble with TESC I again called the school and this time got a different answer.
So unless something is on your eval and that can take as long as six weeks to happen, you never know what can happen.

If they don't take ACE, you won't get them to take ALEKS. Perhaps you could try the CLEP College Alegebra exam. They can and will make accommodations for documented disability. There is no penalty for failing the exam, and it's about $80, so if you pass- it's a very inexpensive way to pass the class!
Also, there are a lot of online college algebra courses that are self paced and or do not require a proctor (thus open book). I'm sure someone here can send you a few links. You might be better off making this question a new topic in the main forum.
Good luck!
