Just wanted to thank everyone once again for all your help, encouragement and support. Even though I'm not an IC member at the present time, I do have the Specific Exam notes for the A & I test and they're very helpful - as they are for all the exams. I highly recommend joining IC just for this info alone!
I too benefit from a full-immersion multi-media approach to studying (my brain just doesn't like fill-in-the-blanks.) I'm not fast but I am thorough, so I'll concentrate on reviewing the literary terms (they're very fresh in my mind as I just took the Am Lit CLEP last Thursday) and go over my weakest area - English poetry. I was helped a lot with Am Lit poetry by listening to poetry readings on YouTube (there's a guy there with fantastic "James Earl Jones-type" voice called "SpokenVerse" who reads many of the major works) and check out dcan's study site. I have a "Poetry For Dummies" book that I've found helpful as well - it explains a lot about the mindset you need to interpret poetry, not just read it.
As a big bonus, I'm VERY happy to learn I don't have to know Old or Middle English!
When I think I've reached some sort of comfort level, I'll try my luck with Peterson's and see how I do.
