If you're willing to work a few years in a low income area, the government will give you up to $4000 per year to complete this kind of study. Essentially, you need to teach in a low income area for at least 4 years afterward. Personally, I think it's a great program to empower these kids. Since I'm not an American citizen, however, I'm not eligible.
That is one of the financial aid programs I'm looking at, but unfortunately my state program doesn't qualify for it. WGU does though.
