GPA and Credit Transfer/Credit Evaluation

TESU will calculate their own GPA based on credits taken at TESU. They will also calculate a GPA from the transfer credits they accept to make sure you comply with the minimum GPA for transfer courses (I think 2.0). Finally they will calculate a "overall" GPA which includes all of the above. I don't think that any GPA the credit eval company calculates (if they even do) will matter.

So, you are saying that if we scored in the 85-90 range on study.com, that does make a positive difference to the overall GPA? So far, my scores have been very good. But I used to wonder if it would make any difference, as none of these grades will show up in my final transcript. Why does TESU choose not to reveal grades earned through other providers on their transcript?

TESU doesn't give grades for Study.com courses (or other ACE/NCCRS credit), they only give a CR if you transfer a course in, which doesn't calculate into your GPA.

Most schools don't give GPA for transfer credits from anywhere.  So, for example, I went to 2 CC's and 3 4-yr schools.  At each school, I have a separate GPA based entirely on what grades I got taking courses at each of those schools.  But my GPA didn't transfer between schools.

A school may use your previous GPA, or calculate a GPA for some reason (just like a grad school might do), but your actual GPA doesn't transfer around, it sits at each individual school.  For that reason, your ACE/NCCRS course GPA can't transfer either, because it's "sitting" at the course provider.
