TESC enrollment status advice
#1
Hi all,

Quick background: I'm pursuing my BSBA at TESU. Last June, I applied to TESU and was accepted/enrolled. Life got busy (I got married and got a new job) so I'm not going to be able to finish my degree before this coming June.

So I need advice about my enrollment status. In emailing one of their learner support reps, I was told that to stay actively enrolled I will have to pay for the comprehensive or enrolled plan ($9k or $3.2k). For some reason, I thought that I simply had to take a TECEP before June in order to stay on track with their per credit plan.

How do I proceed? Should I let my enrollment expire while I finish my other test-out work and then re-apply when I'm ready? Should I take steps to stay enrolled so that the catalogue is locked in for me? I have some money put away for school, so I could pay for the enrollment plan if necessary (and that would put my feet to the fire for finishing in the next year).

Thanks! You guys are the best.

That rep was smoking crack. Yes, in order to stay actively enrolled, you only need to take and PASS a TECEP. I would suggest an easy one that you need towards your degree anyway like Computer Apps or Applied Math.

I personally would not let my enrollment expire, but would keep it active. That's because on July 1, the new catalog comes out, and you don't know if any new rules they put into place would be better or worse for you. So, stay active on the 2014-15 catalog for now.

I would also not wait until June to take the TECEP. That's because if you let it go for a few months, and then on June 1 thought "Oh yeah, I'd better get my TECEP done" and you went to enroll in one, you would be registering for the JULY TERM. You would then miss the window for keeping your enrollment active, and would have to start all over again with applying and enrolling, and who knows what the rules would be at that time.

So register for a TECEP sooner rather than later, as once you PASS it, your new 1-year window starts then.

That's just what I needed to hear. To be fair to the crack rep, I was probably asking the wrong questions. I've been out of the game for a while.

I'll take that TECEP in short order. Solid advice.

If we wanted to register before July 1, which term should we register for, and when do you suggest the latest is to apply?
