Wishing you the best. I found that by networking with people who had the sort of jobs I hoped to find and being able to provide documented experience in my desired career field were essential for me to secure interviews, get hired, and begin my new career when I retired from the Navy.

I used my USNY Regents degrees to get into OTS. I retired from active duty 30 years ago last month.

When I was enlisted, I was an education specialist. There were four of us working on Regents degrees. We all graduated and went to OTS.

Recommendations to you and the original poster:

1. Sustained superior performance IS and WLL REMAIN your most important criteron

2. Discuss your goals with your chain of command and Career Counselor. You have a vast infrastructure whose purpose is to match your goals with the needs of the Navy. Make use of that network. it. It is provided for you.

3. There are many Enlisted to Officer accession programs;

4. Why are you in search of a commission? Could reaching a very high rate in your current path also be good goal? What about an opportunity to attend a fancy "C" School and get a shiny new NEC

Ahuge THAVK YOU! to all veterans. We continue to be a smaller and smaller percentage of the population.

Medical retirement is a completely different route for us traditional separation folk, but I am making the most out of my time in since I get unlimited tuition waivers to whatever in-state public university I want of my choosing. I think that I've maximized my benefits there more than anyone else probably lol but the Family Readiness Center is a must for separating members if you're looking to SkillBridge

We don't have rates/ratings in the Air Force. We have Air Force Specialties, and I said mine in the previous post.

For 28 years. Still do. I doubt seriously anyone else here was befuddled. But I have no interest in answering any more of your questions.
