Anyone any good experiences with using Independent Study Courses?

Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out how i'm gonna satisfy the managerial accounting requiement. I just looked on LSU's I.S page and they have their managerial accounting course on hold for some reason. Just my luck, the only only course on hold is the one i need to graduate hilarious

Then i jumped over to BYU's Independent Study page and they have the course on offer, but for a whopping $423.
I guess i'm looking to find out if anyone has used either of these two schools for I.S courses, not just managerial accounting , but in any subject?
Also, if anyone has any other schools offering the same kind of system, please chime in. My goal is to find a school offering an accelerated program or Independent Study, as i'm looking to finish it this fall, in order to graduate.

[SIZE="2"]I took courses from LSU, University of Alaska (Fairbanks), and Penn Foster College too.

They were all accepted by EC and I found them to be quite educational.[/SIZE]

And how long did they take to complete?

Yea, I hated that LSU took away the Managerial Accounting course. Just took it away in July. I believe some of the Texas state universities have the IS course for under $400. I think WTAMU, Texas State, and a few others.
