TESC Evaluation BSBA CIS
#1
Here is the evaluation I received from TESC for the BSBA CIS. I have also attached a excel spreadsheet that shows it more clearly, and the methods for completing the program that may make sense. I want to complete it as quickly as possible. Also, I have wondered if it would make sense to first go after the associates to feel a sense of accomplishment, as that will not take as much to do. I have been out of school for a while and now is the time to go back, I just do not know where to start. There are so many options for classes/tests to take, I am a little lost. I want quick, I am fine with a challenge but also do not see this as a way to learn a whole lot as I already have a great start in on a career based on self taught programming. I just need the paper advance. Also, obviously the less it costs the better, but that is not one of my main concerns.

What are you thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

What tuition plan? If you are using the per credit plan, you need more TESC options. I only see 1 TECEP and I think others have said that environmental ethics is not one of the easier ones.

You need enough credits that getting the Associates first may make sense. Do you plan on looking for a new job before you finish the bachelors?

The MIS and Cyber Security DSSTs count as UL credit in the CIS AOS.

why are you loading up on calc classes? They are not required for this program and there are easier ways to get gen ed credit.

You may want to research options for economics. the SL courses are a lot of work and I am going to try for macro clep instead, but for them it is what works better for you.

Not familiar with omega math. Have you looked into ALEKS? Although depending on how good you are with math, you may want to take some math TECEPs

Can they move CIS206 (COS 303) from the Intellectual section to your major? That will cove an UL and you can then also use the opened spot for an ALEKS course or the free Kaplan PLA.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

If you want Calculus, do Computer science. other wise your making this harder on yourself. Here I have attached my recommendations. Any straighter line I have mentioned I have personally taken and are as easy as they get. ( except business law, that shit was rough. Business comm was easy however you have to write a few papers. I feel confident with my recommendations because this is my current degree plan, most of my recommendations are things I have already completed.

Also, I have added 7 TECEPs, you can try to fit and 8th for the residency or take an actual course for the TESC GPA

I just looked up that OMEGA Math. It looks like you need to whitewash the credits through one of their partner schools since I didn't find any ACE review. I doubt it, but I wonder if the Big 3 schools would accept those straight up without laundering the credits.

The Calculus courses were there due to my original interest in a CS degree, but are no longer needed. I have updated my plan, with changes based on your comments and some more research. I have added TECEPs so as to make residency, and a few extras that seemed to make sense. Now I have two spaces open for GenEds - don't yet know what to do with those. I am not sure about Omega Math. I saw it a few other times on this forum, but I do not think I really want to go that direction now. I would want to do the Per Credit tuition plan if possible, but it would not be terrible if I had to go with the Enrolled Options. I think it would relieve some stress, but I will go with more TECEPs anyway.

I may want to the Systems Analysis and Design as a TESC course instead of the CSU test. Anyone have experience with the TESC course? I have seen that mentioned on the forum as well.

Does anyone have experience with Saylor courses? They seem like a decent way to learn the material and prepare for what ever test I may take, and they have several aligned with TECEPs.

I think I have a better plan now, but its hard to make decisions with so many options.

Well here is the plan for further comments:
