I finished taking all of my tests on Friday.. PHEWW! Feels good to be done! I actually found the Dantes ones to be easier than the Microeconomics CLEP, but.. then again, you did all say that Micro test was a real bugger anyway.

Now, just have to try to be patient and see how I did. I swear, this time thinking about it is just making me think I probably didn't pass, but who knows. Just have to try not to think about it! Smile

I'll post my results just as soon as I get them!

How does your score correspond to your grade for that class at your school? For example.. I received a 53/80 for the Micro test. Does that mean I'm going to show a "D" on my transcript? If so, that really sucks, since I have a 4.0 right now with only 6 classes to go! Or does it just show 3 transfer credits for that class?

Thanks again!

no i believe a 53 is a standard C ...If you read on some of REA books , they will illustrate the scaled scores according to its Lettered grade.....

but like Snazz had written in his past post ....every school will have a different interpetation of your score...

i would personally take statistics over finance .....

both are challenging exams either way ...depends on the person...

Example:

Which of the following numbers equal a total of 6:

I. 2 + 4
II. 3 + 3
III. 7 - 3
IV. 10 - 4

A) I and II
B) I, II, and III
C) I, III, and IV
D) I, II, and IV

It makes for some very tricky, and time consuming, questions. For this reason alone, I would say that DANTES exams are often slightly harder than CLEPs. >>

I agree and MAN that hurts my brain! hilarious
I have only taken 3 DANTES (passed two-failed one), but I found the questions EXACTLY like the example above. Wordy and unnecessarily difficult . I think that any "advantage" a person thinks they have with only 4 choices is out the window because there are a great deal of possibles like the above sample. This doesn't really allow a good process of elimination. If I didn't know how to solve +/- questions, I would be able to determine that answer 1 was an answer of 6, which might be able to help me solve the others using an algorithm. But even in the example above, you notice overlap of possible answers. Solving 1 (addition) leaves you empty for solving 3 and 4 (subtraction). This takes you through a "if-yes-then" type answers. I experienced a good number of these questions. At a guess I would say 10-20% of my exam:confused: would others agree? Throw in a few questions which might be more open to interpretation and you can have (In my opinion) a pretty challenging exam. I think Snaz's example is brilliant and right on target.

Are the computerized versions as challenging since they are timed?[/COLOR]

I definitely think the DSST questions are worded differently and can be a bit more confusing. If you do the computer-based DSST exams, those are timed-you get 2 hours. But you get your score immediately! I can't do the paper-based ones anymore. I did the paper-based one for Ethics in America.....I hated it...the wait was terrible. Plus, any more than 2 hours & my brain is mush anyway...so, it's a great tradeoff for me.
