I guess i wasn't reading into the details enough, sounded a little too good to be true. The three senior level ALEKS courses are all statistics, and most likely redundant in the eyes of most schools, and probably not calculus based, as another user mentioned to me in a previous post. Actually there would be quite a few courses I'd need to take if i wanted to get a Math degree, too bad.

Oh, actually TESC only allows 1 stats course per degree. So, the others are considered duplicate credit- but even still, they are only MAT201, you'd need 300/400 level math

Hi all,
How long does it typically take for a completed ALEKS course to show up on an ACE transcript?
Do I need to "open an account" with ACE before I ask for the ALEKS course to be credited?
How does the ACE transcript process work?
Thanks!

Hey, can anyone tell me what ALEKS courses TESC will accept for either an associates or bachelors? I'm not enrolled yet, but I plan on enrolling soon. I'm talking about the Gen Ed requirements, obviously.
Thanks, I tried doing a search and wasn't able to find a clear-cut answer

I've tried to read this entire thread but still don't think I have an answer.
Can someone please help to confirm if EXcelsior gives credit for both the Intro to Stats and Business Stats in their Business degree program - or not?
I've just finished Business Stats and want to know if it's worth my time to do the Intro to Stats assessment.

I have 9 credits from ALEKS. It took me about 2 months to finish all three courses. But one only took an hour so I guess it took about a month for each. I loved ALEKS and yes, you have to sign up with ACE. But it's free until you ask for them to send the college of your choice a transcript which I think cost $40. So TESC takes ALEKS courses because they take most ACE accredited courses. ALWAYS check to be sure. I wasted an hour testing out of beginning algebra to find out TESC no longer accepts beginning algebra from ALEKS. I hope this helps. =)

I can't think of anyone who has tried to get credit for both in a business degree at EC. If you find out more info, please share.
This is the closest conversation that I can remember:
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...stics.html
Basically, it says that ALEKS Stats is LL in the business program. ALEKS Stats is UL in Liberal Arts, but you can only get credit for one ALEKS Stats course.
Since it is LL in business, can you get credit for the second one as UL in electives? I'd like to know, too.

Thanks NAP - I saw that thread as well.
I think I'm just going to do it because I expect to breeze through the assessment - of course it will be 2-3 hours of my life I'll never get back!
I need to re-enroll at Excelsior by June just to graduate and will try to remember to post back here if they accept both for my Business degree...

Can confirm it took me just under 5 hours today to finish the Aleks Intro to Stats initial assessment with 72%.
I will see if this applies to the Business Bachelors at EC or duplicates with Business Stats - should enroll and know by June so will report back.
I'd guess anyone completing one could put the extra bit of effort to complete the other. Never know when it could come in useful in the future...
