Have you looked into ALEKS???
ALEKS -- Assessment and Learning, K-12, Higher Education, Automated Tutor, Math
I just finished Beginning & Intermediate Algebra with them and I would recommend this route to anyone because it's so cheap. It's only $20 a month and you can finish as many courses as you want in that time frame for $20.
Just make sure that whatever college you attend will accept ACE recommended courses for credit.
You can look at most school's policies on this matter on their website. If you need help...let me know and I can call some schools for you and pass the information along.
Hope this helps.

Since you are already enrolled in college, I see 2 possible choices that would be better than looking for a new college.
1. Find an online college algebra course that does not require a proctor. Even Excelsior has one- but there are cheaper options for sure. This is the best choice.
2. If you REALLY can't get through college algebra, you might consider changing your major. Every major has its own math requirement, and college algebra is not required by all majors.
__
IF you get to the point where you
a) know your college won't accept ALEKS
b) are unwilling to do an online algebra class and transfer it back to gccc
c) are unwilling to try the CLEP
THEN maybe you could change schools or change your major. If you have more than 50% finished, I'd keep that option at the very bottom. If you are in your first 25% of credits, then transferring is much easier.

B) reminded me of the fact that Straighterline has a College Algebra course, and I believe they offer 10 hour of tutoring with it. And you can either get it transcribed via ACE or you can get it sent through Fort Hayes State University (and get a letter grade out of it.)
It may be a better deal for the poster than ALEKs because of the included 1 on 1 instruction.

Well you know that General Education require Two math requirement and i did contacted Fort Hays State University advisor and he say you have to be admitted at Fort Hays State University and register course via Straighterline online for college algerba. I checked with Director Ms todd at gccc and she say gccc will accept credit from FHSU and they honor credits.
[COLOR="DarkGreen"]Once STR sends us your grade, we enter the grade on the FHSU course foryour transcript. Your FHSU transcript will not say "straighterline" in anyway. It will be an FHSU credit for an FHSU course.

*Note the duplications, so the current credit available from ALEKS is now only 12 credits placed in math/natural science/general education.
**Also note that this means CLEP College Math can now be taken with this sequence for a full 6 non-duplicating credits, brining the total available back up to 18!
