Dantes Statistics Question
#1
Do I need to be able to work problems on null hypothesis, convidence intervals and p-values and correlation and stuff like that? Or can I pass the test with my basic knowledge of standard deviation, mean, and probability. I understand some of the principles, but don't understand how to work the problems. I have been studying for this test for a long time, but still don't understand the harder concepts.

Why don't you give Kahn Academy a try Khan Academy. He has online tutorials on Stats.

Correlation and p-values are a big one on the test. While you MIGHT be able to pull off a passing score without, I would NOT count on it. I am not wanting to discourage you at all - for statistics is really doable! There wasn't quite as much on null hypothesis-type questions as correlation/p-values, but there will definitely be some. If you have any more questions or would like some more details, don't be afraid to ask me!

I passed by a very good margin... That said I did not recognize the format of any of the nul hypothesis questions. So yes I THINK you can pass without it. I just remember thinking that none of the resources that I studied presented the info like it was on the test. Even after the test I couldn't find a spot that made slap my forehead and say "Ah Ha that's what they meant..."
