I'm not fond of FB either. I am one of those people with hundreds of "friends." I use FB as a networking tool for work and volunteer orgs. You can post events, join groups, etc I basically never post, and I rarely read others' posts. I just check my messages a few times a week.

I'm a failure at using LinkedIn. I think it's because all of the jobs I've had aren't really professional, white collar jobs. Most of my coworkers do not have LinkedIn accounts. I am IT, and it seems that EVERYONE in that field, or anything remotely close to it, is on LinkedKIn. I, personally, do not like it... I used to do costume and set design, and LI is popular for theater and film people. I have friends and family that are teachers and professors, and LI is popular with them too. I guess it just depends on the field. |
