Ok, as I mentioned before, I am currently enrolled at bothe EC and COSC. I initially enrolled at COSG then decided on EC when they became a Title IV school, since I depend on FAFSA. Well, now, I've decided that the best alternative (completion rate-wise) wuld be to stick with COSG.
When I initially enrolled at COSG, financial aid paid my enrollment fee. At EC, since I was not taking any classes with them, financial aid did not cover my enrollment fee. So, I signed up for the electronic payment plan and put down $156 of the $922 fee. I called EC today to cancel my enrollment and was told that if I send a fax ASAP, before my official evaluation is complete, I will only owe 1/3 of the enrollment fee. However, If my official eval is sent out, I will be responsible for the whole fee.
This is a perfect example of why one should WAIT before enrolling! The advice given by the forum members is sound advice that I should have heeded to. Now, I have to pay EC $308 for basically nothing. It doesn't seem like much, but it's a lot to a student on a budget and who takes exams at roughly $100 a pop.
