EC tuition time restrictions ?
#1
Hi all,

Does anyone know how strict EC is about annual tuition if you are finished all course work but are awaiting transcripts?

I am just about done and have just started the WER at Penn Foster but I cannot find anyone that has taken this specific course and therefore I do not know how long it takes to finish and grade. The student reps at PF will only tell me how long they allow to finish the course (being political) and will not give any answers about the grading time policies so I am not really sure how long this could take (unlike Tech Math which was about a month).

My question is, since my first year as an Excelsior student will be up in about 9 weeks, will I have to pay another thousand dollar tuition renewal for what may end up only being very short time (maybe just awaiting transcripts) as a student?

Thanks,
Mike

Isn't the renewal around $500? Also, I thought I heard a rumor that if you finish within 30 days from paying the renewal, EC will apply that amount to your Graduation fee.

You may want to call EC for the straight scoop.

20 UL Credits to go (7 tests)

You could take 25 DSST tests or 27 CLEP tests for the price of 1 UoP class.

PFC english essays can take up to 3 weeks to grade each, and there is four of them.

Thanks for the feedback,

You are correct Greggy_D (thanks).
I will have a 30 day window to get my final transcript in (came from Mary Ellen at Excelsior). They will still charge me for the full tuition but then refund the difference using part of it for the graduation fee as long as I get the transcript to EC within the 30 day grace period.

You are also correct BrandeX (and thank you).
Penn Foster will take about 3 weeks to grade each paper, but there are no restrictions as to when the papers are turned in. I was told that I would not have to wait for one paper to be graded before I turned in the next one (my advisor is double checking to make sure).

I was also told that this course would be marked as a P for pass regardless of what (passing) grade I recieve at Penn Foster and that every course via Penn Foster is a P/F at EC.

Thanks,
Mike
