Emergency Management Certificate - Community College (FREE)

Penn Foster has an Admin of Justice course... if that's the one you are looking for.

I'll try emailing him later to see what FEMA courses are required since the 2016 pdf and FEMA don't match.

Yours looks even better then mine. Mine doesn't even have the foil emblem. Also no border. Either way I am glad I applied for it.

Attached is what the two Certificates look like.  Not fancy, but FREE for a HSEM geek like me! Big Grin

This was the program list in 2016.  I think he has a little judgement room, but you really need to email him.  He is the sole judge on it.

Based on LLL's original post, they accepted DSST Criminal Justice and a separate Intro to Criminal Justice course as non-equivalent. So If you're willing to do the DSST and then pick one of the various Intro to CJ courses (like SL or Study.com), then that should work.

I guess SL's Intro to CJ course expires at the end of this month, so you that's cutting it close if they don't renew.

"CJS 250 Police Organization and
Administration

or

CJS 230 Security Management
(APL)

or

FTA 216 Municipal Fire
Administration"

Don't know where these are offered short of a full semester class from a college.

This is what I was referring to. The other requirements are easy. I will have to check and see if that or another Penn foster course would work.

•ENG 101 (Comp), COM 173 (Speech), HIST 202 (US History II), and TWO criminal justice/fire courses (see list).  I think there is some play (come close) in them (email Dr. Crouch).  I said three CJ courses, but that was wrong!cheersmate

Okay, forgive me if I'm repeating what's common knowledge in this thread (I did read it, twice, but always "on the go"), but here goes:

If I'm reading the above right, I'm good with the ENG 101, Com 173, Hist 202 requirements.  I have 1 Criminal Justice class via StraighterLine.  So that leaves either one more CJ course, OR a Fire course.

Question:  Does the NFA Fire Supervision Course count? (I'm aware that it's not ACE anymore, but I took it when it was ACE qualified)

I don't have personal experience, I was just basing it on what LLL had previously said in the original post.

Y'all might already know, but they are getting rid of fire supervision and changing to some type of ems/fire supervision course. Got am email about it today.

You should email the Professor.  He is ex-USAF so I bet he knows of DSST and respects them.   If it is close I bet he would!  I only know what he took in my case!

BTW, I was unclear in my writing...but TRCC wasn't changing their requirement, but NFA is changing their course to fire/ems instead of just fire service.
