Plenty of people aren't having a problem with the professor. Some are. Definitely not everyone.
@evanmonast, just curious, is there a specific reason to avoid? An issue with grading? Professor not providing feedback? Can you provide us more details?

You could take English Comp I at Sophia.
For English Comp II, Sophia it takes around 2 months to complete because they hold you up with grading as each paper takes one week to grade. English comp I, they don't hold you up that much as you could complete in 2 weeks or less.

I spent well over 2 months on Eng Comp 2 on Sophia. Total nightmare. The grading is horrible. They take far too long to grade the Touchstones. I dropped it and finished it at UMPI in 3 days. It's 1 paper at UMPI versus 6-7 on Sophia.

I have emailed Jessica to ask if this new DSST will count for Eng 121. @ UMPI. It will be a great alternative if so.

That DSST has been around since 2016. Definitely not new.

They have it listed as a “New” exam on their website. They also have Technical writing that has been around awhile. Do you know if either has been accepted by UMPI before for Eng 121?

Well it's the government who is not known for the speedy updates.
Technical Writing from colleges hasn't come in as ENG121. I don't see a DSST coming in for it either.
Here's the page about DSST on UMPI's website. Nothing about English is on it but this isn't a full list. The transfer database doesn't list DSST exams unfortunately.

Have you heard back from Jessica? she emailed back and said that it will be next week as the Transfer contact was out of the office this week. She forwarded the email and link to them.
