Thanks for the feedback! I was looking at this for my ethics requirement (to avoid finding a dsst testing center..), but I'm going to avoid this one.

No problem guys. I was taking it as one of my residency credits. I'm working on my Masters now, so I figured I'll take a couple of TECEP's towards a BSBA in general management.

jawbreakingrr Wrote:Well I finally received my results. NG (no good) / NC (no credit) as I did not pass the TECEP. I found this exam to be pretty tough. I studied and passed the exam on Saylor, but the TECEP was totally different. I feel a lot of the material I memorized or obtain was not on the exam. Out of the 4 essays I only knew two of them. I'm sure there are different versions of the exam. I only used Saylor, but did not watch any of the videos as some of the videos were extremely long, plus I was taking three masters classes. Good Luck to anyone else. If your an environmentalist or are majoring in it or have a good background on it, I'm sure you'll pass this exam with no issues.

Thank you for the feedback. I was thinking about taking that TECEP to knock out 3 credits of the residency requirement and fulfill the ethics requirement. I was just going to use Saylor to study, but I now think that I will just take Ethics in America. I don't like the setup of Saylor courses and have had great success with Instantcert flashcards. The Business Ethics and Society test is being used for my Business in Society requirement.

I've also taken this exam recently. My experience was different than jawbreakingrr's. I enjoyed this exam. I only used the Saylor course for preparation, and did not buy any textbook. I felt that two of the exams were very easy (you really only needed to understand one or two key vocabulary terms to answer the exam questions), one of the exams was medium difficulty, and the fourth was somewhat difficult. The multiple choice questions were of similar difficulty level and content to the ones in the test description. I passed the test. Later, jawbreakingrr and I exchanged pm's and discovered that we had very different essay topics, so there are different versions of this test. I enjoyed studying this course, and I'm glad I took this TECEP.

Has anyone else taken this TECEP and can offer feedback on what to concentrate on when studying ? Do I need to buy any of the texts recommended or is Saylor enough?
I'm really nervous about this as I need to pass this to meet my 12 credit requirement

Anyone taken this in the past seven months? I'm taking it this week and haven't seen any information on it really.

I've looked at other colleges' Environmental Ethics materials to get an idea, but most are geared toward a semester of writing parers, not taking a one-shot exam.

I didn't see this thread before I signed up. I was told that Saylor's Environmental Ethics class is good prep for this TECEP but after reading this thread, I'm terrified.

Someone actually PM'd me and said they used Saylor to prepare and passed by a good margin. So I don't know what to believe, but I am already using Saylor a little bit. Mostly I've been reading a textbook that's really more a collection of essays.

Hmmm, I'm rereading jawbreakingrr's post and it looks like s/he was taking graduate classes. The course load by itself is a lot of work, without the pesky TECEP so perhaps that had a lot to do with the bad experience.

I don't like the setup of Saylor classes either....too much clutter, too much everything. I wonder, though, if the Saylor videos are crucial...jawbreakingrr mentioned s/he didn't watch any of them. They are undoubtedly long but might be helpful.
