Why doesn't excelsior take the Eng. comp. w/ essay? I am trying to decide which of the "Big 3" I want to start sending my tests to. I was really leaning toward Excelsior because of the 30 GRE credits, but I don't want to waste my Eng. comp w/ essay CLEP either. If I go with them does this mean that I have to do something else for my English credits?
I am so  ! I really, at least mentally, need a road map I can follow. Preferably something concrete I can write out with a time line and plan . I just don't seem to be able to find a lot of info on the college websites.
I hate to keep asking so many questions, but I want to go the best route and make sure not to waste any time.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Excelsior just doesn't take the Clep English comp, so you will have to take English comp 1 and 2 in seat or online or take Excelsior English exam.
What degree are you thinking about achieving? TESC has the break downs for each degree you are considering so it is a decent guide post for you to follow.

Hi Alleycat,
Just a minor clarification... Excelsior actually only requires 3 credits of English Comp, so it isn't necessary to take both English Comp 1 AND English Comp 2 (unless you choose to do so).
TESC, on the other hand, does require both English Comp 1 and English Comp 2, but accepts CLEP English Comp with essay (or Freshman College Comp with essay) in fulfillment of ALL 6 necessary credits.
Hope that helps,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob

I felt the same way in the beginning. You don't need to choose yet; your credits are safe and can be applied to any school later. Also, Charter Oak will take your Eng. Comp CLEP and GRE too.
