Excelsior - Math for non-science majors?
#1
Has anyone had any luck in getting Excelsior to approve a math class similar to Math for Health Science majors, or Math for Non-Science majors... I'm still struggling with what to do to fulfill the math part of my degree (Liberal Arts).

I'm getting closer and closer to finishing... except for the math demon!

Thanks!
Denise

MBA - California Coast University - Will complete by 9/30/26
MS - Management and Leadership, WGU 2022
BS - Liberal Arts - Depths in Healthcare and Psychology, Excelsior College 2014
Certificate - Workers Comp Admin, UC Davis Extension, 1995
AA - Licensed Vocational Nursing and Selected Studies, Mesa College 1989
Certificate - Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN), Mesa College 1977

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

Will the College Math CLEP suffice? I passed the test after very little studying using only IC. I barely screeched by but a pass is a pass. I despise Math and have never been very good at it. I still managed to pass though and I bet you can too!

BA/Liberal Studies, TESC 2011
AAS/Applied Electronic Studies, TESC 2010

I concur with blue, College Math CLEP is obtainable. There are flashcards and tons of valuable information in the specific exam feedback that will help you pass the exam. I got the same score as blu with a 53 and im not the one to enjoy math at all.

Yes, I considered ALEKS, but I started and got discouraged. I was a math major my first year of college - a million years ago! Now my math phobia is sooooo bad that I can't seem to move forward.

I think I'll try for the CLEP then, if I don't pass, go back to ALEKS.

Again, thank you all for push towards doing SOMETHING! :hurray:

ShotoJuku, I just looked at the Penn Foster math.... that also looks like a good possibility!

Okay, so I signed up for Aleks again... for intermediate alegebra. I know that if/when I get a 70 on my quiz that I've passed. It will be a LONG time before I'm ready for the quiz! LOL!

When I gt ready to take the quiz, is it timed?

Thanks!

Question on ALEKS!!! I signed up for Statistics with ALEKS. I also signed up with ACE for their credits. I didn't know you HAD to take a proctored exam after you reach approximatey 70%+. Is this for all exams through ALEKS?

Thanks!
