That's good to hear. Are you under any kind of deadline, like the 30 days for the initial enrollment evaluation?
I was thinking of the ALEKS Stats example, too. Since the business degree had a specific requirement for lower-level Stats, it seemed like they were filling that slot as-is and not following the ACE recommendation. This seems like a different situation, but I guess we'll have to wait and see, which I am sure is not easy for you.
How many upper-level credits do you still need for this degree?

I am under the 30 day deadline of the intial evaluation. I need 30 upper level credits for this degree. I do have the 5 upper level Vesi/Morningside grad credits I could use. When I signed up for the second degree I did not realize the upper level I used in my first degree could be used toward the 30 upper level needed for my second degree . This is why I was hoping the Dantes Religion and Ethics would be counted as upper level, as I did not have them as upper level in my first degree.
I asked to have the ECE Ethics removed and the dantes Ethics posted in its place, but was told since I took the ECE I could not use the Dantes Ethics. Since I was not trying to get credit for both I figured I could switch them out but I was wrong. Now that they are not giving upper level for it I guess it doesn't matter.
Honestly, I am contemplating not getting this second Bachelor degree, as it is really turning into a hassle and I am getting frustrated in my dealings with Excelsior this time around. Now contemplating if I should move forward with this degree or throw in the towel and just go for a Masters degree through Amberton or another college.

I'm sorry to hear this has been such a frustrating process this time around.
I wonder if you need to appeal now just so you don't get stuck with this potentially wrong decision later (after 30 day deadline).
You need 30 new UL credits?!? That's a lot! How many can be Liberal Arts and free electives and not specific to your new major? I have not looked closely to see if any of these are UL; would any of the shorter and less expensive ECE's be an option?

Breakdown of the UL credits needed for the degree I am enrolled in:
9 Arts & Science
6 ANY AREA
15 In business Component of which 9 must be in the Business & Management Core
Regarding ECE's I requested approval to take Pathophysiology as part of the 9 UL I need in A&S but was denied due to the following:
"This exam requires knowledge in a number of areas in which you have not had any coursework/exams. Assumes a familiarity with normal anatomy and physiology and microbiology. A familiarity with concepts of biochemistry and immunology is suggested. "
I would not have asked for approval to take the exam if I did not believe I would pass it with a good grade. So this is just one example of the things that are frustrating this time around.

When other people say they need 30 credits for a second degree, I did not realize it could be 30 UL credits. That really adds to the challenge since getting 30 UL credits through exams for one degree is hard to do. These ânewâ UL DSST exams will help many, and I can see why you are anxious to know if they will be allowed in your degree program, too.
Is this the new (in the past year of so) degree program? If so, I wonder if you are one of the first to try it. That could be a good thing for those that follow you (if this is the best fit for you), since you know the school and its policies so well already.
I have considered taking the pathophysiology ECE, too. I wondered what kind of background would be needed to try it. I am sure this is good advice for many testers, but I am surprised by the response of denying approval. I have never noticed specific prerequisites being listed for an exam and did not know how that was handled.

NAP. pathophysiology is much easier if you've had A&P and Microbiology- that's undeniably true.

I just received confirmation from an advisor that these 4 DSST exams are upper-level at Excelsior:
Criminal Justice
Ethics in America
World Religion
Hereâs to Your Health
That change combined with the lower cost of some ECE and TECEP exams means more excellent options for many of us taking credit-by-exam!
