Let me just say that without this forum I never would have found out how to go about with the testing process and everything. Thanks so much to everyone here!
I m shooting for a social science degree at TESC, hoping to get it done by April first so that I can graduate in June! I took my first DSST today, History of the Vietnam War. Unfortunatly, the center I took it at only delivers paper and pencil tests, which I did not realize until I got there. I think I did pretty well. They told me four weeks to get the results. Luckily, I found a computer based center nearby. Next week I will be taking 2 or 3 more.
My plan is to complete my TESC class War and American Society, and the following tests by April first. Hope to have the tests done by march first. History of the Vietnam War (pending results)
Civil War and Reconstruction
Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union
Western Europe since '45
Substance Abuse
Fund. of Counseling
Here's to your health
Kineseology (TECEP)
Into. to human Services (TECEP)
I registered with Instantcert, so I have the flash cards, as well as the exam feedback Forum to study with.
Again, thanks to everyone who contributes here, it has been an ENORMOUS help!

Great job! Stay focused and get to know your test center, once they know you, you'll get to pick your test dates and times without any issues. Good luck on your next test.

Thanks! The good news about the center I found is that they take you at any time! No appointment needed! I have a paper to do for my TESC class tonight, and then its studying time the next few days for civil war and reconstruction. I think I am going to go take that tues. , and then switch focus to Substance Abuse, and attempt that next friday.

If you have the time and inclination, Dr David Blight (?) iTunesU lectures and Ken Burns DVDs are very interesting too.

Just took and passed Civil War and Reconstruction! got a 60! All I did to study was review the instantcert flashcards two times. I had a decent knowledge of the subject for this test. Other exams will certainly require more studying. Now on to Substance Abuse! taking it Friday!
