Free College Credit from TEEX!
#11
Is there a link with the instructions on how to convert them to college credit?

I haven't taken my (DSST) MIS exam yet. If I were to take these courses before taking my MIS exam, do you think COSC would have a problem with it? - being that some courses must be taken in a certain order to receive credit.

You should verify... but I would be SHOCKED if COSC cared one way or the other.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this).  Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I think it could work one of two ways. Possibility number 1 would be that you would go into your ACE account and request that the TEEX course be added to your transcript. ACE would then get electronic confirmation from TEEX that you took and passed the course. Possibility number 2 would be that you would do everything the same way, but that you would also have to request that TEEX send a copy of your transcript to ACE.

I have sent a couple of emails to TEEX asking about the procedure to transfer to ACE, hopefully I will get a reply soon about this.

Just trying to make sure that all these cool options I keep seeing are available in one easy source. Threads tend to get old and buried. Besides, it saves time by posting just one link to newbies who ask the same questions. Wink

I think this link should answer most of the questions we have.

TEEX: American Council on Education (ACE)

It says that they will send the course completion notice to ACE quarterly. ACE shows you as being able to add the courses yourself. Right now my ACE transcript says pending approval. I am guessing that TEEX will most likely not respond to the pending approval, they will probably just wait until they send all the quarterly records in. It does not say when the quarterly dates are.

Is it a prerequisite to be in the Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness field to be able to register? The "New User Registration" page doesn't have any options for "civilian" or "other."
