Getting 60 credits for police department quickly

Ok. This may sound like a silly question, but what exactly is it that you need? Like, what is the verbiage of the requirement? Is it 60 college credits? An associates degree? Either/or?

The reason I ask it that way is because the GF was applying for a position in a school district. The requirement read “an associates degree or 48 college credits.” She did have “48 college credits” (what I’m assuming to be RA credits), but she did have her official AAS review and transcript from Pierpont that stated that she had met the requirements for the degree with 133 credits (mixed RA, ACE, and NA), and it would be conferred at the end of the semester.

In short, if the requirement is a degree, or 60cr on a transcript somewhere, you can be there in a month or two depending on how fast you work. If the requirement is 60cr of RA, I think I’d just hammer out UMPI classes as fast as I could, or something like that.

Actually, one thing that seems clear is that it doesn't have to be RA. It simply says accredited college or university, which would include NA schools. I do agree it would be prudent to inquire with the department whether ACE credit on a college transcript would suffice. I think it likely that it would.

My recruiter told me as long as the credits are on a transcript from an accredited source or university it counts. Don’t even need the degree, just the credits on transcript

In that case, go with Pierpont. Provide transcript when it's at 60 credits. Get your AAS. Continue on to Bachelor's degree.

Yeah I’m going to try and line up the classes enough to have some credits towards a bachelors with TESU and go for that eventually
