How does the Straighterline Proctor thing work

[jayboy]

I read something about ProctorU. Do you have to go to as specified location to test or can you get approval for you own Proctor like a Boss or Pastor at a church.

You do not need to go to a specific location. This is completely online. You can do it from your home. First, you have to sign up for a course on SL. The proctoring is included in the course fee. Once you are about to finish the course, you can schedule your proctored exam. When you log in to your SL account, under the course name you will see "Schedule proctoring". This link will take you to ProctorU web site. Then you can schedule your exam. Make sure that you are planning your exam at least 72 hrs before to avoid additional proctoring fee. Also, You need a mic and web cam installed on your computer.

What about a course like English Composition? Doesn't look like proctoring is included in the course fee...
English Composition I Courses Online | StraighterLine

[bs13]

There is no proctoring for English Composition I. All you have to do is take all quizzes and submit graded and ungraded assignments. The writing assignments will be checked for plagiarism using software.
