Hi,
I'm currently working on my BA/BS and want to enroll soon to Excelsior.
I already wrote my Master thesis with UoP (got an A).
Does anybody have experiance what I would need to do so Excelsior counts this course towards the WER?
(The unofficial evaluation which I got back today, did not count it towards the WER.

)
Hope somebody has a hint for me, because I don't want to write the ECE Exam for English:eek: .
THANKS,
kckusek

If I were you I would talk directly to an Excelsior advisor. A masters' thesis certainly demonstrates you have a handle on written English

I had some issues with distribution of credits for my degree and the advisors were helpful. Maybe if they saw a sample of your work, you could get an exemption from the WER. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!
Till next time,
Mike

Perhaps I am being presumptuous here but I "presume" on the content of your post that your thesis was accepted with an "A" by UoP and would further presume that you are in or have completed a masters level program. Of course you would have already been required to have completed a bachelors degree program with an accredited school.
So......why does EC need you to complete the WER if it can be presumed, if not inferred that you have a BA/BS (MA/MS?) degree already??

Hi Everybody,
Thank you so much. I talked with an academic advisor this morning and she recommended, that I write a letter to the Dean incl. three of my graded papers, and the Dean would be able to take off the WER.
I will write the letter this weekend and let you know the outcome.
To answer your question, Brain. I started my Masters at UOP and after one year into the program (incl. Master Thesis) they came back and told me that they never really looked at my transcripts from Germany, and that the education I got there was not equal to a Bachelor and therefore, I can not continue with my Masters program...
This is how it came about having a Master thesis, but no Bachelors... (That will change soon, I already have about 60 credits together :-)
Thanks for your support,
kckusek
