Is there a BA of Random Studies?
#1
Ok, I know there is not such a thing but would like a little direction from anyone that's been down this road.

I want to apply to one of the 3 and would be looking for a BA or BS in anything but with the collection of credits I have and the ones most likely to be awarded I dont see a common theme. From the classes below would I be further ahead in a BS IT program at EC or maybe a BA General Studies at TESC. I know I will need a lot of UL credit at either and hope to go the CLEP route but dont want to waste credits if I dont have to. I have not applied and I know I will get an eval when I do but dont know which one would be best suited to me.

thanks in advance Credit Hours

I guess the first question you need to ask yourself is "why do I need this degree?" since a General Studies degree and an IT degree generally aren't interchangeable.
#3
Thanks for the Reply. Dont need one just want one. I was looking at the General studies only because I figured it would allow the most credits whereas another would require them to all be in one field. I started to think about the BS only because I have so many credits that would be in a computer field that it may be quicker. Dont care what the degree field is, just want it so I can know that I did it.

Check out the Bachelors of Professional Studies in Technology Management at Excelsior, it has an Information Technology option.

https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_Coll...Management

It will also allow maximum use of your Military credits and require only minimul General Education, which you can test out of. See my post at the bottom of page three in the BPS thread for more details.

Here is a template for this degree, which Alissa put together:

Thanks for all of the great replies and ideas. I have been lurking on the board for a while and everyone on here seems so nice and willing to help that I knew I would get some good information. I am going to investigate these options further and see where my evaluation comes in. Thanks again.

Oh, wow. How bad do I now want a Bachelor's of Random Studies! Hee. (Although a BS in BS is pretty darn funny, too.)

That aside, yes, I would think something like Excelsior's Liberal Studies program would suit you. Your computer credits can be used there as electives, and there's room for a lot of variation in your other subjects.
