I'm wondering how much overlap there is between the Macroeconomics and Microeconomics exams? I'm almost ready to take Macro, but when I called my testing center, there isn't an available day until the end of the month, and I don't want to wait that long.
One idea I had was to finish studying for Macro, and then study for Mirco, and take both tests on the same day at the end of the month. Just because I have a limited study time, I'm wondering how feasible it is to do both of these exams at once.
Thank you for any tips!

You can definitely do it. Study instantcert Macro and when you have a handle on it do the Micro. There are only 229 or so questions in the Micro section. Personally, I also used the Cliff's AP Macro/Micro book and read through it slowly while drawing the graphs and making notes in a notebook. I believe there are practice tests in the book also. If you do that you will have a solid understanding of the graphs. You may not have to but that's how I learn. The Cliff's Macro/Micro AP book was cheap.
Here is the link on Amazon.

Good Luck and once you pass, post feedback for the next person that needs help!

There is a ton of overlap between Micro and Macro. Studying for both might help you more than hinder you due to all the duplicated material and concepts that may only differ in the scope they are applied.

Thank you for your suggestions and encouragement! I figured out a way to take the Macroeconomics exam sooner, so I'm planning to take them a week apart.
I am wondering if you have any tips on increasing my speed of answering questions. I took one Peterson's PT and scored 64%. After a little more studying, I took the Official CLEP Study Guide PT and got 83%, which is really good! (I think.

) However, it took me at least two hours to complete because I had read the question, comprehend what it was asking, and then evaluate each answer choice. A lot of the answers look similar so you really have to read them carefully to make sure you pick the right combination (especially relating to supply and demand or increase/decrease).
Is the solution just to take as many practice tests as I can? Or do you have any other ideas?

If I remember correctly, both of the tests took me a little while to complete. Try to group blocks of questions into similar answer patterns. For example; If you realize after studying the graphs that X,Y or Z factors always seem to shift the line to the right or up then automatically any answer that says left or down is out. I remember being able to do this with the these tests.
The answers are similar in these types of tests as a way to differentiate between someone who may have an idea and someone who actually knows the material.
Also, if you scored 64% and 83% on practice tests, you should be fine. I have noticed that if I correctly answer 50 of 100 questions on practice tests, I am in good shape.
Good Luck
