So I've read a lot of your posts without signing up for the site but I finally have. My name is Eric and I am trying to get my degree in business. I am taking a CLEP exam (Principles of Marketing) this Friday at 10AM. It is definitely not an ideal time to start studying... but at least I'm actually going to study.
I hope I can not just be someone who asks for help but eventually can give advice to others on my experiences.
Hopefully my exam goes well and I can get along with everyone on the forum!

Welcome Eric,
I am sure you will find those on here helpful and encouraging. In the short time I have been here, they have been a great asset. Good luck on your CLEP. May there be many more in your future.

Welcome, Eric! You'll do just fine. You said this is not an ideal time to start studying, but as I told a coworker who is starting her path towards a degree after a number of years away from books...much like any hard to do, but worthwhile goal, there is rarely a "good" time to start. Adult life has a funny way of throwing kinks in virtually every plan we can devise. There will always be a reason why "tomorrow" is better than today, but continually falling into that trap just means start dates keep getting postponed, putting the finish line further out of reach. That applies to tough things like quitting smoking or losing weight, getting finances in order to get on a budget, or finishing a degree. Getting started is not always easy or timely, but it is the very best thing you can do, so good for you for jumping in!
Take a deep breath, make sure you put a bit of time into studying, and you'll knock that CLEP out of the park. You picked a great starting point; Prin. of Management is an excellent starter, and will set groundwork for a number of follow-up exams to complete after you ace it tomorrow.
Good luck! You'll do great.

Good luck, and congratulations on your start. Mrs. B is right on the money. If you wait until the "best" time, you'll probably be 5 days dead.
What hasn't been mentioned much lately in the forum is creating a plan of attack. What exams or tests will you take? Will you start easy, or hard? What's your back-up plan in case your don't pass an exam? (Of course, THAT never happens, but it's good to know just in case.)
Welcome and, again, good luck.

Welcome and good luck. You have not left much time for study, but if you have former knowledge of the subject you will be fine.
Should tomorrow not go as you hope Don't give up. Dust yourself off and get back on the testing horse. Study more for the next one and keep at it. If I hadn't given up in 1999 when I took one CLEP practice test and only got 50% right, I might be a certified teacher by now and not a frustrated almost was.

ahhh! I wrote a super lengthy reply but because I wasn't logged in it didn't go through and it was lost!
Basically I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and well wishes. I really do appreciate it!
Hopefully I can come back tomorrow with good news!

Good luck and my 2c is to read the REA books for every CLEP test. Spend more time studying the subject than surfing the web and posting on this forum and you will do fine. Avoid analysis paralysis and make progress every day.

I PASSED!!! Got a 66 on the test! I'm so happy because honestly I didn't think I passed after completing the test. The few things I did study weren't even on the test and I thought the wording on the test was weird.
Now it's time for a plan on how to get all the classes done that I need for my degree!
