Hi! I just joined today and first, thank you to a lot of you people out there!

I have read over the forums a lot and they have helped me in my test taking. I currently have accumulated 86 credits from CLEP and DSST, am waiting on my results from another test, and am about to take a final DSST..for a total of 93 credits. My plan has always been to finish up my BA in Communications at TESC, so I just enrolled and was about to sign up for classes when I came across another possibility and this is where I need help.
It looks like you can take courses from other colleges that will be faster and/or less expensive and then transfer them to TESC. Has anyone else done this? I'm in over my head and don't really know where to begin.. I found a thread on here that gave a list of colleges that don't require enrollment to take classes, but I've never done any research like this before and just really need help. Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, what have you done? These courses will need to fit in my degree requirements for TESC... at least 18 credits need to be 300-400 level courses.
If you have ANY advice or recommendations, please let me know.

I'm doing basically the same thing, I suppose. Except that I'm taking them at a community college, so none of them will be in the 300/400 range, then next school yr I'll finish up my requirements at TESC.
Some people do it all without ever taking a class from TESC. What exactly were you hoping for?

You might want to take a look at Clovis. I sent you a PM regarding this.

@Ponygirl93
Thank you... I'm just trying to see if there is a college or two that offer (preferably) independent studies that I could complete faster than TESC courses (cheaper would be good too

and then transfer the credits to TESC.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum!
This thread has some suggestions for an Excelsior degree in Communications, but you may find some info that is helpful for your situation:

That post in particular includes links to BYU and LSU independent study courses, plus Ohio U exams.
Just be sure to check with TESC that your choices will match your degree requirements, so that they will transfer properly.

I think that many of us here are have a patchwork of credits. Good thing about any of the big 3 is that they're pretty good at pulling together transcripts from multiple places and honoring them.
I have old credits from a couple of different schools and also use Straighterline for a cheap way to get credits for subjects I don't want to (or can't) test out of.
A lot of people here also use Penn Foster and I've considered taking a self-paced course at Adams State University distance learning.
The most important thing is to check with TESC or whatever school you're enrolled in to verify that they accept the credits. Also check to see how they view your credits. For example, even if it's an upper level class at the school you take it at, it could transfer as lower level.
