tesu-acct-student Wrote:Piggybacking on Davewill... you can create a blog, but I should have been more clear before: you would need to convert your blog posts to uploadable files, such as PDF or Word. The professor who evaluates your portfolio isn't going to follow a link to your blog, I don't think. You will be uploading all of your evidence to a website, then the professor will evaluate it.
I wanted to be able to break the written narrative down with audio files with majority of the detailed content in the audio files. So maybe a PDF with an outline but a link to the audio portion within the PDF.

I don't think the written narrative is optional. See #4 here:
Thomas Edison State University: PLA Self-Assessment Guide
Because of this, I don't think portfolio is a good option for anybody who doesn't like to write. That's just my opinion but I do think enjoying the writing process helps immensely.

Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios:
TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here:
Intermediate Accounting II.

As we keep trying to tell you, a video version of your narrative isn't going to work. You're going to have to write it. What I don't get is that if you can write a script for all these videos, you can certainly write it as a document.
Video would be useful for showing a speech for a communications course, or a performance for a drama or music course. Perhaps a video of a training you developed for an HR course would be useful. There was also a suggestion of an introduction video to help put a human face on your submission.

^^^ Yes. Similarly, in my PLA-200 course one of the students indicated that he'd be using video to show his guitar-playing technique for a guitar course. And wasn't there somebody else here who earned a bunch of portfolio credits for music or piano? I thought she used video for some of that as well.
