While I can understand wanting to be a part of the school as much as possible, it definitely makes sense from the school's standpoint that they would limit what online and remote students can participate in. As clubs are designed to integrate students who will be with them for a few years and provide a sense of community within the campus. Allowing Yourpace students in would not be a realistic representation of the standard student experience. Since most finish in less than 6 months. With that said it would be nice if they had clubs specifically for yourpace students, perhaps as the program continues to grow that will be something they consider, however that requires someone to manage it, likely faculty since the turnover will be so high and require much more attention than a typical club. My guess is the opportunity cost is just not worth it.
That is where this forum, discord and facebook groups come into play for us online and CBE students.

Many YourPace professors only teach YourPace courses and aren't on campus. There is a professor from UMFK who teaches many business courses. YourPace students don't pay an activity fee so there are no funds collected by the university to offer a club for YourPace. Many YourPace students are rushing through the courses and don't have the time or desire to participate in a club. There's definitely a social aspect missing from YourPace, but I think this is the case with most online learning.
