With the Saylor.org final exams having two options, one for credit which is proctored and the other not, is there any difference in exam content? I would not expect there to be but can anyone confirm this? I have scored in mid-eighties for the non-proctored exam and hope this is a good indication of the proctored exam?

I found the one that is not proctored was easier. I don't think the content was different, but for the most part, I scored better on the non-proctored one than I did on the proctored one. I think with mid-eighties you should be good, but don't take the proctored one for granted. I scored 92% on the non-proctored and 78% on the proctored one for Corporate Com.
Hope that helps!

I just started my experience with Saylor.org. I can't speak to your specific question, but I did want to alert people that if you fail the non-proctored final exam it seems to also lock you out of the "proctored" final exam. Wish I had known this. They say if you fail the final exam you have to wait 14 days. What is misleading is that it looks like there are two final exams, proctored and non-proctored. They even suggest doing the "practice" final exam first. I thought if I missed the one, I could still take the other one.
Now since I'm new to Saylor.org, maybe I can setup proctoring for the proctored final exam, and I just don't know it, but so far when I login to the testing page, it does not give me access to the final exam.
I am studying Principles of Marketing with Saylor and passed all the quizzes with 70-100%. I then retook all the quizzes just to make sure I was current. I think took the non-proctored exam and I feel that 80% of the questions were of different content than the quizzes. I failed with 66%. I'd also like to add, I feel like the study content is wordy, fragmented and poorly written. I've seen study guides written by CLEP test takers that were significantly more helpful.
I researched this forum for info on Saylor but couldn't find much. So I'm posting this so hopefully other people won't end up frustrated like I am.

I too have only recently started the Saylor programs. I started with Marketing and followed this strategy: First went through all the quizzes and assessments to get a feel for what I knew and what was being asked. I then logged into the website Education Portal https://education-portal.com/academy/". This site is awesome. It has many fully completed videos for credit aligned courses including marketing and management and many others. On the EP site I started the Management course and went through each video course and took each mini-quiz. Then took the final exam from EP and realized a lot of the learning had really stuck in my head. Then I went back and retook all the saylor quizzes and assessments where I scored less than 80% on. (Also I had initially taken the saylor unproctored final and scored 67%). It took me about 4 days to go through the EP lessons but ended up being two weeks duration due other obligations. I then retook the Saylor unproctored final and scored 86%. I reviewed the missed answers and then that night scheduled the proctorU test and paid the extra 5 bucks for the short notice in scheduling the test. The proctor U technician had to navigate to the Saylor test and enter a passcode to activate the test. I know its different than your question but I don't think missing failing the non-proctored test will affect the ability to take the proctored test, it just has to be initiated by the proctor.
I found the proctored test to be very similar to the non-proctored test. I ended up getting a 82% on the final, may have been due to being at 11:30pm though.

Just to clarify, you used the management course on EP when studying for Marketing?
Thanks for the feedback and the study resource!

No, I used the appropriate one for each course. Management for the Management and Marketing for the Marketing. Sorry for any confusion. I just found that these courses being so interactive with short videos and many quizzes has helped me to remember much more, and also has kept me engaged more than if I had simply committed to self study by reading texts.

Thank you very much. I just watched a bunch of marketing videos on the website Education Portal https://education-portal.com/academy/ and they are excellent! I too like how the information is broken up into small chunks without being unnecessarily wordy. The videos are cute and the quizzes are very helpful for review. The content so far seems highly relevant to the course on Saylor.org as well.

I just wanted to comment and say that whenever I took the proctored exam they were always locked when I tried to access them on my own. It wasn't unlocked until my proctor put in the password she was given by Saylor. I'm not sure how it works with Proctor U, but I'm assuming it would be similar. So I don't know if that's what you mean when you say locked, but I just thought I'd let you know.
