This is what it comes down to sadly.
I am being told if your transfer credits weren't transferred before 4/30 you will have to adhere to the new changes.
This means some people who have completed Sophia+SDC BUS or ACC classes and didn't transfer them in before 4/30 will likely have to re-take the same courses at UMPI now to get the credit.
This is a major blow to a lot of people but Hotdogman1 seems to think I am "overreacting" and trying to spread misinformation. Unlike you Duneranger many of us aren't getting degrees for "fun" we are trying to move forward in our careers. If we had the luxury of "hacking" degrees for fun perhaps we would feel nonchalant like you do!
This is a big deal for anyone in the process of an Accounting degree (all ACC classes now transfer as general electives) or BABA PM/IS.
This change has the potential to add 1-2 additional semesters to completing a degree. For people like me paying out of pocket this is one hell of a blow.
The fact this came without warning is very tragic. Hopefully UMPI will address the changes head on and make some exceptions or change their effective date from 4/30 to a later date and give people in process the chance to transfer what they have already completed.
I e-mailed my advisor and she told me that as of today(5/1) 4/30 was the cut off for any in credits to be accepted and from today forward the new equivalencies will have to be adhered to.
I am getting a BA in Psych and so far this doesn't derail my path and I can still be done with 10 courses as of now. However; I am now wondering will there by more changes because I am not starting UMPI until Summer Session II. I still have Sophia and SDC courses to take. Now I have to do 1 StraightLiner course due to the change.
I almost just want to take what I have now and start 05/12 and do the 10 classes for the BLS. I have sent out a few e-mails and I am waiting on a response to see how I should move forward.
